In March, the Badesc Cultural Foundation Film Club has a special program dedicated to International Women's Day.
The documentaries Brave Miss World, by Cecília Peck which tells the story of Linor Abargil, Miss Israel who was raped and used her visibility to help other victims and the short film from Santa Catarina Whiteness, by visual artist Giovana Zimermann. After the film, there is a debate about violence against women with the Dr. Silvana Maria Pereira, researcher in the area of Gender Studies and nurse at the Hospital of the Federal University of Santa Catarina.
The Great Directors session honors MDuras argueritis, who is known for her work The Lover and the screenplay for the classic Hiroshima, my love, Marguerite also directed 19 short and feature films. The Cineclube also shows films Destroy, she said, The children, The truck.
Directed by a collective of Women Affected by Dams (MAB) and collectively financed, the documentary Burlaps addresses the strength of unity between women in the face of the pain of losing their memories.
