Catastrophe Film Festival – Cineclube of the Badesc Cultural Foundation

During the Thursdays of July the Film club of the Badesc Cultural Foundation promotes Catastrophe Film Festival, with four films produced in the 1970s, considered the golden age of disaster films, always showing from 19pm. Synopsis (in order of display): Hell in the Tower (The Towering Inferno), by John Guillermin (1974): On the opening night of an office building, a massive fire threatens to destroy the building and kill all the guests.  Poseidon's Fate (The Poseidon adventure), by Ronald Neame (1972): An undersea earthquake produces a tidal wave that capsizes the luxury liner Poseidon, leaving only 10 survivors. Airport (Airport), by George Seaton (1970): A pilot attempts a forced landing in the face of a psychopath's threat to blow up the plane while a heavy blizzard disrupts the operation of the airport.  The Hindenburg airship (The hindenburg), by Robert Wise (1975): In 1937, the airship Hindenburg, one of the symbols of Nazi might, catches fire on its way to the United States and most of its crew survives.
