In order to encourage reflection and debate through cinema, the sesc in Santa Catarina launches the project Urgent Dialogues, with commented sessions of contemporary films, every last week of the month, until October. The first film shown by the project is the documentary Central, by Tatiana Sager. Synopsis: Representatives of the Judiciary, the Public Ministry and researchers analyze the critical situation of the prison, considered the worst in the country by the CPI of the Prison System, of the Chamber of Deputies, in 2008, and the target of complaints of human rights violations made to the Organization of the American States (OAS), in 2013. Military police officers, family members and, mainly, prisoners, talk about the daily life of the prison, describing serious problems such as overcrowding. Unpublished images show the interior of the galleries, where the guards do not enter, and the prisoners themselves, organized into factions, are in command.
