The animated feature "tarsilinha", a film inspired by the work of Brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral (1886-1973) and directed by Celia Catunda and Kiko Mistrorigo, will have a special live screening during the 20th Florianópolis Children's Film Festival. The free session will be on October 23rd, at 16pm, on the official website and can be watched from any city in the country. After the film, the Florianopolis Camerata presents a live concert prepared especially for the festival: Villa-Lobos for Children.
The feature film Tarsilinha tells the story of an eight-year-old girl's journey to recover her mother's memory. The film is not a biography of Tarsila do Amaral, but is inspired by the works of the modernist artist. In visual terms, the character moves through the universe of colors, structures and shapes characteristic of Tarsila's pictographic universe.
