Dancers, schools and academies from Brazil and abroad can now register for the process that will select participants for the Desterro Award - 5th Dance Festival, taking place from August 21st to 24th, in the capital. Works from simple classical ballet and repertoire, contemporary dance, traditional and contemporary ballroom dance, popular and urban dances, jazz and tap will be accepted, which will compete in three categories. The subgenres are divided into male and female solo, duo and ensemble. Entry is limited to just one choreography in each combination of genre, subgenre and category. The first placed in each genre/subgenre/category will be guaranteed a place to perform in the following edition with choreography of the same combination, without the need for selection. The best of each genre will automatically gain the right to compete in the Passo de Arte – International Dance Competition, which will take place in July/2015, in Indaiatuba/SP.
