One of the main windows of the visual arts of Santa Catarina, the AF Award for Contemporary Art Registration is open until the 16th of September. In 2021, the award reaches its eighth edition and is part of the 65th anniversary celebration calendar of the French Alliance Florianopolis. As is tradition, the winner will undertake a three-month artistic residency at the prestigious Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
Artists of all ages and who live in Santa Catarina can apply using the form online available on the website of French Alliance of Florianopolis, which also contains the complete regulation.
The AF Award for Contemporary Art also repeats the partnership with Badesc Cultural Foundation, a cultural reference for the entire state. For the third time, the institution will host the exposure collective of the three finalists. The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for October and November this year.
Awards
The selection of the three finalists will be made by an artistic committee. The winners will be announced by the end of September and the group show will be between October 9 and November 11. In addition to participating in the exhibition, the three finalists will receive two semesters of French classes at Aliança Francesa Florianópolis.
The big winner, announced on the opening day of the show, will participate in an artistic residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, in Paris, for up to three months, with tickets and accommodation paid, in addition to living expenses. Opened in 1965, the Cité is an institution recognized worldwide for being a studio-residence for artists of all specialties and nationalities.
