Open class “Albrecht Dürer – artist, work and canon”

One of the most renowned artists of the Nordic renaissance, Albrecht Durer, will be the subject of an open class promoted by the BADESC Cultural Foundation in partnership with Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and the Santa Catarina School Museums (MESC). The date online "Albrecht Dürer - artist, work and canon” will be broadcast live on November 3, from 9 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday.

As vagas são limitadas e as inscrições podem ser feitas no formulário online. Registered participants will receive certification. 

The activity is part of the discipline Special Thematic Seminar of the Theory and History of Art: Why Read and Think the Classics, taught by Prof. Dr. Sandra Makowiecky at the Graduate Program in Visual Arts at UDESC.

About Ana Lucia Beck

A member of the Brazilian Association of Art Critics (ABCA), of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts (ANPAP) and of the European Society of Comparative Literature, Ana Lúcia Beck holds a Bachelor's degree in Drawing, a Master's in Theory, History and Criticism of Art and a PhD. in Literary Studies at UFRGS, did a doctoral internship at King's College in London and a post-doctoral degree at PPGAV/UDESC, researching Lindolf Bell's role in art criticism.

After 13 years of experience with university education in Rio Grande do Sul, she currently works as a teacher in the Visual Arts Course at UDESC and also at USAC. She is part of the research group “History of Art: Image-Eventing”, registered with the CNPq, under the leadership of Sandra Makowiecky and Rosângela Cherem. Recently, the group released the work “Past-Presente em Quadros: an anthology of the history of art in Santa Catarina”, to which Ana Lúcia contributed five chapters.
