To celebrate the arrival of the first organization focused on LGBT elders in Santa Catarina, the NGO Eternally Am promotes an event entitled Coffee and Memories, this Saturday (29). Totally online, the meeting, whose theme is the "Magical Universe of Santa Catarina", will feature several presentations and may be accompanied by the GoogleMeet.
The event aims to socialize LGBT elderly people and discuss relevant issues of society.
Eternally Am
The NGO has existed since 2017 and is the first LGBT50+ reference and coexistence center in Brazil. The non-profit initiative, which relies on 100% voluntary work, works on behalf of LGBT elderly people by offering psychosocial care.
In addition to developing an integrated and multidisciplinary work, in order to favor the social inclusion and protagonism of these people, the NGO values a dignified, healthy old age with all the guarantees of human rights and the promotion of LGBT citizenship.
Free consultations by psychologists, legal consultations, choral singing workshops, awareness-raising in companies and events that favor the construction of public policies and social awareness are offered, mobilizing partners for the integrity of LGBT old age.
In Florianópolis, the physical headquarters is coordinated by Celso Rabetti and is located at Rua João Henrique Gonçalves, 1635, Casa B, in Canto dos Araçás.
Activities at the moment
At this first moment, during the pandemic, the activities offered at the Santa Catarina hub are daily meetings via Google Meet, an online Spanish course and socialization meetings. online, such as Café and LGBT50+ memories.
The NGO's goal is that by December the team of volunteers will be formed so that other services can be made available.
Who can participate?
The NGO's activities focus on LGBT people over 50 years old, however, there is no limitation, "everyone" can participate in online events, Meet rooms, lives, regardless of age, sexual orientation, gender, race and creed, as long as that respect diversity.
On the other hand, specific services such as psychological, legal and assistance actions are intended only for LGBT50+ people.
