The writer André de Oliveira and the architect, photographer and graphic designer Joel Pacheco launch on July 7, at 18 pm, through a videoconference on the Google Meet platform, the book “As Côsa by Sêo Maneca".
With 64 pages, the bilingual Portuguese-English publication brings 10 stories about everyday life in Florianópolis, highlighting the way of life of the traditional Azorean community, which began to be forged more than 270 years ago.
The own edition marks André's debut as an author and the fifth title with the signature of Joel, a researcher of landscape, ethnography and popular culture on the island of Santa Catarina, responsible for the illustrations that accompany the texts and for the entire visual planning of the printed.
Personification of the figure of the manezinho, an inhabitant with secular roots in the region of the capital of Santa Catarina, Sêo Maneca takes the reader to walk through different corners of the Island and the Continent, showing a city of yore, which no longer exists, or made invisible by modernity, even that is still there, in front of your eyes.
