Victor Meirelles Museum promotes live about the Santa Catarina School Museum

A 12th live of the Victor Meirelles Museum project (Ibram/Secult/MTur) “Speaking of Museums – a chat between Florianópolis museums and their professionals” will be broadcast for free at 18 pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, on the channel of MVM on YouTube. The theme will be Museum of the Santa Catarina School (MESC – State University of Santa Catarina / Udesc), with guest Sandra Makowiecky, coordinator of MESC. The mediation is by MVM museologist Rafael Muniz de Moura.

Among the topics for the dialogues are the creation of the Museu da Escola Catarinense, the history of the building, its uses and restorations, the team, the formation of the collection, exhibition programs and educational action and the challenges in the pandemic. The Santa Catarina School Museum was created in 1992 within the Education Science Center of Udesc. In 2007, the building, which was built at the beginning of the XNUMXth century to house the Escola Normal Catharinense and underwent several changes over time, was intended to permanently install the MESC.
