A special week for those who like Art History. This will be the extra editing of the project Virtual Museums scheduled to take place from October 05th to 09th and carried out through the SC "Culture in Your home", from Catarina Cultural Foundation (FCC).

Each session consists of a virtual tour, led by the art educator Claudio Toscan, and which, for approximately 1 hour, will visit the main museums and works by the selected artists. For this extra edition, the public will be able to “travel” through the careers of artists such as Van Gogh, Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo and Hokusai, in addition to a session dedicated to Brazilian Modern Art. All sessions take place at 20:XNUMX pm on the youtube.com/maratonacultural. . 

It is worth remembering that the “Virtual Museums” consists of a free virtual tour of museums and galleries around the world with the help of tools such as the Google Art Project.

07/10 - Frida Kahlo- The story of life, struggle, passion, love and art of one of the most influential women of the XNUMXth century, will be narrated through a tour of the house where the artist lived, today Frida Kahlo Museum, in Mexico City. Also in the Mexican capital, there will be a visit to the Dolores Olmedo Museum, which presents us with a significant exhibition by the painter and her husband Diego Rivera.

08/10 - Biography of Brazilian Modern Art - Through the galleries of the National Museum of Fine Arts, in Rio de Janeiro, an itinerary will begin with a representative panorama of Brazilian art. The 1922th century offered academicism as a legacy, while the XNUMXth century began dominated by the influence of the French Belle Époque, culminating in the XNUMX Modern Art Week and a manifest fervor in search of nationalism, which brought new questions about artistic production in Brazil. Brazil. This itinerary will feature works by artists such as Pedro Américo, Victor Meirelles, Anita Malfatti, Tarsila do Amaral, Portinari, Di Cavalcanti.

09/10 - Hokusai - The "Hokusai" section of the "Virtual Museums" will visit important Japanese museums to present ukiyo-e art from the Edo period, especially the prints of Katsushika Hokusai, one of the most significant artists in the country. His work had a great influence on European art of the late XNUMXth century.
