One of the most important partnerships in the history of Brazilian popular music, that of the poet Vinícius de Moraes with Tom Jobim is the motto of the virtual soiree “Vinicius, the amateur poet”.
Organized by singer, researcher and conductor Dani Mattos, accompanied by her vocal group Poucas & Boas, the virtual event will take place on Thursday, September 17, at 19 pm, through the Google Meet platform. Those interested in participating must apply on this link.
From the meeting between Vinícius and Jobim, one of the most fruitful partnerships in the history of music was born. There were more than fifty compositions, many of them eternalized internationally, such as: “If everyone were just like you”, “Chega de saudade”, “Garota de Ipanema”, “Eu sei que vou te amo”.
Between one song and another, the participants will be able to know curiosities about this partnership that has become a deep friendship. Among the subjects are, from the beginning of the professional meeting between these music masters, the performance of the theatrical play written by Vinícius de Moraes “Orfeu da Conceição” (1954), the album “Canção do Amor Demais” (1958), to a brief passage on the consolidation of bossa nova as a musical style.
