The film "Pixote, the law of the weakest”, drama directed by award-winning filmmaker Héctor Babenco, will be addressed in the Gender and Alterities Session online scheduled for Friday (09), from 19:XNUMX. THE live will be broadcast on BADESC Cultural Foundation channel on YouTube and is performed by Cineclub Cultural Foundation BADESC, in partnership Center for Studies and Research on Violence (Nuvic/UFSC).
They will participate, with the mediation of the filmmaker and curator of the Cineclube Fundação Cultural BADESC, Vanessa Sandre: teacher Dr. Patricia Lima (UFSC), who teaches at the UFSC Education Center, in the area of Education and Childhood and the Dr. Mirela Alves de Britto (TJSC Psychologist) – PhD in Anthropology and Clinical Psychologist with experience in child care.
In the plot, we follow Pixote, a boy who was abandoned by his parents and lives on the streets. He has already been interned in reformatories where he suffered torture, degradation and corruption. The protagonist survives by becoming a small-time drug dealer, pimp and murderer, even though he is only eleven years old.
Childhood and violence permeate the feature film, which draws a fine line between fiction and reality.
