Registration for the ballroom dance duo contest is open. This is the only competitive part of Baila Floripa, whose edition will bring together hundreds of practitioners from Brazil and abroad in a program that also includes workshops, shows, free classes, lectures and balls.
The competition is divided into professional and amateur categories, both played in two stages. Professionals will be evaluated for their performance in bolero, forró, salsa, samba, tango and zouk. For amateurs, just bolero, forró, samba and zouk. Couples will have to dance each rhythm for approximately two minutes. The songs and their order will be drawn before each heat. The contest is open to dancers of any age and origin, with a maximum limit of twenty couples in each category.
