Photography as a tool for deconstructing aesthetic and social prejudice is the proposal to Ubuntu – I am because we are, thematic of 18th Meeting with the author, a relaxed chat with the photographer Victor Hugo Silva, author of the portraits of more than 40 people from Greater Florianópolis who are part of the project. Ubuntu is the African philosophy about solidarity and respect. During the meeting, photography lovers and the general public have the opportunity to learn about the photographer's career and behind the scenes of the project, including the choice of characters with such different profiles. The event also counts with the presence of the architects Fabio Pereira, Leandro Sumar e Tauan Zanetta, authors of Espaço Ubuntu, environment of Casa Cor Santa Catarina where the photographs were exhibited. The Encontro com o Autor event has been held since 2014 and aims to be a space for interactivity between professionals and scholars in the field of photography and visual arts and school students and the general public interested in the area. Various topics are covered, such as photography and architecture, photojournalism, artistic, advertising, nature photography, among others. The event is free and takes place every two months.
