The 1990s are back in CIC 8:30 - Great Encounters of August, with the bands Spring in the Teeth e stonkas.
The band tooth spring, founded in 1989, established itself as one of the most expressive manifestations of independent music production in the state of Santa Catarina in the 1990s. With an infectious sound, it managed to gather a very loyal audience, receiving much praise from its admirers, the press and musicians. who were his contemporaries, influencing many good people. The group already has six albums and in 2013, won the Prêmio da Música Catarinense, in addition to being elected the best band in the state.
The Florianopolitan band stonkas, founded in 1991, mixes reggae, rock, funk, pop, forró and dancehall. They shone with their authorial music on the stages of Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Ceará and Pernambuco, being the only representatives of Santa Catarina in the Abril Pro Rock Festival, idealized by Chico Science in the city of Recife. The Stonkas released only one CD, in 1997, with the musical production of Nelson Meirelles (Cidade Negra and Rappa). A beautiful story that ended in 2001 and now reappears with the same formation.
