A Island String Orchestra is the attraction at CIC 8:30 Grandes Encontros. The group will take the stage at Teatro Ademir Rosa with two guests: conductor and double bassist Gustavo Fontes and violinist Juan Rossi. With performances throughout the State of Santa Catarina, the Ilha String Orchestra was created in 2005, based on a project designed by Paulo Mattos, with the aim of contributing to musical education and encouraging the study of classical music and the formation of new audiences. . One of the Orchestra's differences is its repertoire, which always seeks to offer the public new works and concerts with didactic explanations.
