O Live Concert: Brazilian Saudades do Island String Orchestra Quintet is scheduled for June 24, at 19 pm, with free transmission directly from the Pedro Ivo Theater stage. The live can be watched both on the Youtube channel and on the Facebook page of the Orquestra de Cordas da Ilha.
We will have as guest soloists on Live, two great musicians from the Santa Catarina scenario, the flutist Cristian Faig and the guitarist and cavaquinist Eduardo Pimentel.
The repertoire includes songs by Brazilian composers ranging from classical to popular, creating a dialogue between works known to the public and other pieces of great musical value that, for various reasons, have remained unpublished or unexplored.
One of the works of the program, with singular meaning, entitles the project and is the result of a curious partnership between the composer José Pedro de Sant'Ana Gomes and his famous brother Antônio Carlos Gomes: Miss. The song is based on a melody by Sant'Ana, which was arranged by our most famous Brazilian operaist for string orchestra.
