Formed by the brothers Sergio e Odair Assad, the world-renowned duo travels through 14 cities, from north to south of the country, presenting in their show emblematic works and themes that are part of the new CD.
Residing in the United States and Belgium since the 80s, Assad performs around the world in recitals, with orchestra and alongside big international names such as yo yo ma, Paquito D'Rivera e Nadja Sonnenberg, in addition to being professors at important conservatories. With more than 15 CDs released, they won the Grammy on some occasions.
About your new CD, The Classical Brazilian Folk Guitar, has one foot in the classic, the other in the popular; he plays sometimes with one genre, sometimes with another, and firmly puts his feet on the ground of Brazilian music, proving that it manages to bring together the best of both worlds - great harmonic complexity and elaborate melodic contours with a rich rhythmic variety. Some of the authors present in the work are of great renown, such as Villalobos, Left-handed, Baden Powell, Edgberto Gismonti e Radames Gnattali, Among others.
