On the 29th of August - alluding to the 28th of August, National Volunteering Day - the USBEA Alumni Day will take place in several cities across the country, a day of activities carried out by the Alumni of the Embassy, a group of people who have already participated in Embassy programs American in Brazil. The activities have a social nature and are developed by the people themselves, on a voluntary basis.
The Alumni community of Santa Catarina, together with the American Embassy in Brazil and with the support of FIESC and the Movimento A Indústria pela Educação, will develop the 1st Mãos para me Ouvir Cultural Festival. The purpose of the event is to focus on the deaf community and the LIBRAS language in Santa Catarina, developing various activities for that day such as LIBRAS workshops, lectures and various cultural presentations, with interpreters and volunteers from all over the state.
