The group Portal of Cry was born from the union of eight experienced musicians from the Island, which resulted in good and unique Brazilian popular music. The repertoire includes a mix of choro, samba roots and bossa nova, with their own arrangements for voice and instrumental, as well as songs by Paulinho da Viola, Tom Jobim, Djavan, Chico Buarque, Adoniran Barbosa, Noel Rosa, Jacob do Bandolim and Waldir Azevedo. .
Currently, the band is composed of musicians Mello (7-string guitar and voice), Fábio (tenor sax and transverse flute), Thiago (ukulele and mandolin), Rui (clarinet and soprano sax), Claudio (Tambourine), John Paul (voice and percussion), Deborah (voice and percussion), Tania (recorder and voice) and boy (drums).
