On Friday, the Portal do Choro Group take the stage of Club Atlético 6 de Janeiro which, now renovated, has a glass-enclosed hall, allowing people to dance while enjoying the view of Balneário, in the Estreito district. In the evening, in addition to drinks, there will be à la carte dinner and various snacks.
The group was born from the union of eight experienced musicians from the Island, which resulted in good and unique Brazilian popular music. The repertoire includes a mix of choro, samba roots and bossa nova, with their own arrangements for voice and instrumental, as well as songs by Paulinho da Viola, Tom Jobim, Djavan, Chico Buarque, Adoniran Barbosa, Noel Rosa, Jacob do Bandolim and Waldir Azevedo. . Currently, the band is composed of musicians Mello (7-string guitar and voice), Fábio (tenor sax and transverse flute), Thiago (ukulele and mandolin), Rui (clarinet and soprano sax), Claudio (Tambourine), John Paul (voice and percussion), Deborah (voice and percussion), Tania (recorder and voice) and Neno (drums).Start: 17/05/2014 01:00
