On Sunday (7) there is a big party in honor of the journalist, illustrator, cartoonist and designer, Frank Maia, who died recently, with only 55 years old. "I want a party, Frank” is being organized by friends and several bands from the city will occupy the stage of Célula Show Case, from 17h. The income will go to the family.
On the Cell stage we will have Phunky Buddha, Samambaia Sound Club, Udigrudis, Banda Bravo, Cosmic Duo, Farra do Bowie, Coletivo Operante, Natascha Hak, Patrícia Bolsoni, Chauda and the DJs Jean Magra and Emerson Gasperin.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Frank graduated as a journalist at UFSC and soon switched from text to comics and worked in newspapers such as Estado, A Notícia, Notícias do dia, and union entities. The book “Capa Dura, Miolo Mole”, with Isadora Cardoso and Maurício Oliveira, released in 2017, brings a collection of his works. Frank left remarkable characters such as “As Veia”, which acidly discussed everyday matters and politics in an acidic way.
