For the first time, the Sixth Jazz AF, from French Alliance Florianopolis, promotes two concerts in the same night. The first show will be a tribute to the saxophonist Wayne Shorter and, the second, a tribute to the singer and pianist Diana Krall. For the performances, the musicians Tie Pereira (down) and Mauro Borghezan (drums) receive four guests: the instrumentalists Edilson Armadillo (piano), Elio Lorenzo (saxophone) and Gabriel Barbalho (trumpet) and the singer Claudia Bosle. The Sexta Jazz AF Wayne Shorter Special + Diana Krall Special will take place on May 20, at 19:30 pm, at Floor G3 (parking lot) at Villa Romana Shopping, in the Capital. Admission is free upon presentation of proof of vaccination. Limited spots.
Throughout the history of Sexta Jazz AF (the project has been carried out in the Capital since 2014), two shows have rarely been held in the same night. Also on rare occasions the project paid tribute to artists still alive or in activity.
Wayne Shorter and Diana Krall, however, although from different generations and styles, are important references and influences for contemporary music. The concert that opens in the evening, starting at 19:30 pm, will be dedicated to the American saxophonist and composer. At 88, it was only recently that Shorter actually retired from the stage, not without leaving a legacy.
