After two years away from the stage, the show “Carmen Ballet Suite", with the Florianopolis Camerata and the Associação Cultural Arte.Dança, is back. The piece from the classical repertoire that has become extremely popular and which profoundly defines the Spanish soul, will be presented at the Ademir Rosa Theater (CIC), at 20:30 pm, on February 4th and 5th. The orchestra will be conducted by the conductor Jeferson Della Rocca and the direction of the dancers, Leticia Gallotti.

Produced by Maria Elita Pereira and her team, the show has the cultural support of Villa Romana Shopping, Escola da Ilha and Clube 12 de Agosto, through the Municipal Cultural Incentive Law / Franklin Cascaes Foundation / Florianópolis City Hall.

Opera written by Georges Bizet in 1873/74 based on the novel of the same name by French writer Prosper Mérimeé, “Carmen” and an iconic character, a courageous and seductive woman, who values ​​freedom and is punished for her actions because she lives in a backward world and male chauvinist. The story told in Bizet's work takes place in Seville, in the region of Andalusia, in a square where the gypsy Carmen and the deserter soldier Don José star in a plot of love and jealousy that also involves the bullfighter Escamilo.
