The Orquestra de Cordas da Ilha has as part of its objectives the research, study and interpretation of works that are not frequent in traditional concert repertoires. On this occasion, the opening concert of the season begins with the Serenade in F major by the XNUMXth century German composer Robert Volkmann. In addition, the concerto for double bass and orchestra by the XNUMXth century Czech composer Johann Baptist Vanhal will be a rarity. In contrast, the orchestra will perform two pieces by the two most famous Latin American composers: Heitor Villa-Lobos and Astor Piazzolla.
