The traditional folkloric group Alivanta Meu Boi is the attraction of the next Sunday is Theater Day in Florianópolis. They present a Boi de Mamão show on September 8, at 11:30 am, at the cinema at Shopping Iguatemi. Presentation is free and suitable for all ages.
The repertoire is never boring: a simple gentleman on the island has a pet ox. The wife, pregnant, has a strong desire to eat the ox. The ox, poor thing, dies of grief knowing that the owner wants to eat him. The healer comes to resuscitate him and then the fun begins. The folk group, led by Luiz Domiciano and Sandro Penteado, was founded 20 years ago on Praia dos Ingleses, North of the Island, and since then has contributed to the preservation of the city's popular culture.
