While his latest show, Cão sem Plumas (2017), travels through Brazil and the world, Deborah Colker, whose company has been sponsored by Petrobras since 1995, revisits a choreography launched in 2005, in Germany, and which had not been seen since 2012. Nó, a ballet that will be presented from September 20th to 30th at Teatro Alfa, in São Paulo, is a milestone in Deborah's trajectory. That was when she “turned the corner”, as she says. She interrupted her award-winning investigation into movement and space – which resulted in Velox (1995), Rota (1997) and Casa (1999) and 4 by 4 (2002) – to delve into what sees it as “the tragedy and complexity of human impulses”. The theme of Knot is desire. “Dog Without Feathers tore me apart, emptied me. I felt the need to return to the Node, to review the place where my questions and anxieties began to change. I was sure I hadn’t done everything I needed to with Nó,” she explains.
