In the year of 1717, Fishermen removed two parts of a figurine from the waters of the Paraíba do Sul River, region of Guaratinguetá (SP). There began the construction of the most authentic Brazilian symbol of faith and devotion: Our Lady of Aparecida. It is in the trajectory of the Brazilian black saint that choreographer Ricardo Tetzner realizes, almost 300 years later, the ballroom dance show “1717”, which brings to the stage the language of Dance Theater in its conception of creation, aesthetics and body investigation . In essence, it is a work that brings ballroom dancing to the forefront and is the result of extensive and in-depth research.
