Lawyer Pathelin's HoaxDirected by Julius Mauritius, is a work of the farce genre, written around the year 1460, and its author is unknown. The discussion on ethics that the text proposes remains current today. But this comedy of cunning (with deceiver and deceived) seems to celebrate the triumph of intentional error and deceit, of roguery: rarely has a humanity dominated in search of illegitimate profit and stripped of idealistic illusions been so forcefully portrayed. Presented by the play, by the Santa Catarina group Theater Yes... Why Not?!!!, had its premiere in 1996 and had over 800 stagings in over 90 cities. Over these years, the play also participated in several national and international theater festivals and received 9 awards.
