The Deborah Colker Dance Company comes to Florianópolis with its new show Featherless Dog. Deborah Colker performs in Cão sem plumas, based on the homonymous poem by João Cabral de Melo Neto (1920-1999), her first show with an explicitly Brazilian theme.
Published in 1950, the poem follows the course of the Capibaribe River, which cuts through much of the state of Pernambuco. It shows the poverty of the riverside population, the neglect of the elites, life in the mangrove, of “invincible and anonymous force”.
