Inspired by the opera Threepenny, by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, the show tells a story where no character is innocent - everyone wants power. In the musical play, the bandit Macheath, popularly known as Razor Mac, secretly marries Polly, daughter of Peachum, a marginal businessman known as the King of Beggars.
Dissatisfied with his daughter's marriage, Peachum plans his son-in-law's arrest and wants him to be hanged. Bribed to turn a blind eye to Mac's infractions, police chief Tiger Brown does not intend to arrest the bad guy.
$em Vintén$ is a show where corruption is the driving force behind the action that makes this montage a critical and current denunciation of contemporary society. The event forms part of the 21st Isnard Azevedo Festival.
