A Sesc Theater Network promotes the show As the rain falls, from company fluctisonant, from Paraná. The interpretations in the play are made both in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) and in Portuguese. Synopsis: Two orphaned children meet by chance inside a house in rubble. The city they live in has been ravaged by war. They are children of warring factions, but in their true innocence, they ignore their status as enemies. They ignore yet another difference, which will not prevent them from becoming friends and allies in the struggle for survival: a difference in language. One of them hears and masters the Portuguese language. The other, instead of talking, signals his ideas, perceptions and feelings. She was born deaf and educated in her country's Sign Language. Accessible to the deaf and hearing, the show illustrates a delicate process of approximation and communication between two characters. The language barrier, then, cannot be an obstacle for them to become friends and accomplices in the struggle for survival.
