War Game Show

! - This event/schedule has already happened - !

War game, which takes place in three different places on the same street, in addition to covering its surroundings, is a work in three parts. Inspired by the homonymous game by Alice Becker-Ho and Guy Debord, and the protests of May 68, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, Jogo da Guerra deals with our current time and what we can do in the streets of May 2018. In the game board game, by Becker-Ho and Debord, two teams make their moves without seeing each other, while an outside observer has the overall view of the game. Three simultaneous actions are in progress, people must decide which of the three actions they will take part in: in one of the two that take place, at opposite ends, on the ground of the streets, free of charge and with unlimited capacity of people, or in an indoor place that, in addition to offering an overview of the street, it also has greater comfort, exclusivity and intimacy, but it has limited spaces and entry through donation of a kilo of non-perishable food, clothing or equivalent. The conflict between direct action and the aestheticization of the same in the form of performative acts is no longer an issue in the field of the arts and is present in the most distinct everyday manifestations. Faced with the aestheticization of politics and the limits of a representation that contemplates the various current demands, Jogo da Guerra tries to emerge the imagination and experience of a possible, or not, conquest of the spaces of power.
