The show The Car of Compadecida, by Grupo de Teatro do Colégio de Aplicação, is an adaptation of the text by Ariano Suassuna that was created as an extension project and has the participation of students and young people from the community.
The play inspired by the work of the same name by Ariano Suassuna tells the story of João Grilo and Chicó who live in the interior of northeastern Brazil and have to face hunger, cangaço and the hardships of heaven and earth. The show is a comedy that also features characters such as the baker and his unfaithful wife who, after being dead, will still be judged and disputed between Jesus (also known as Manuel) and the Devil.
