Exhibition of The Troubadour in the Opera on Screen Project

The project Opera on Screen, which promotes exhibitions of opera shows in the cinema room of the Paradigm Cine Arte, starting the month of March with the troubadour.

The work is composed by Giuseppe Verdi (1813 - 1901) and directed by Franco Zeffirelli. And the conductor is Pier Giorgio Morandi.

Synopsis: Leonora loves Manrico, ignoring that he happens to be the brother of the Count of Luna, to whom her hand had been promised. The two antagonists face off without knowing that they are actually brothers. Believing in the death of her lover, Leonora decides to live in a convent. Manrico appears and takes the young woman to the altar. The wedding, however, is interrupted when they receive news that Azucena, the woman whom Manrico considers his mother, is being burned to the stake. Manrico is captured and killed by Luna. Leonora poisons herself and Azucena reveals, after all, that Luna killed her own brother.
