The piece "John and Mary at the Witch's House" arrives at the stage of the Pedro Ivo Theater in a Text adapted for the theater by the teacher Maura Soares, on the 4th of September.
The adaptation shows the adventure of the brothers Joãozinho and Maria, grandchildren of a poor woodcutter, who lived together in the heart of the forest. In an attempt to help their grandfather, Joãozinho and Maria leave the house in the morning unannounced to look for fruits and vegetables in the woods. On the way through the forest, João and Maria spread bread crumbs. The crumbs, which is the best known and most characteristic detail of the work, as it was to mark the way back, end up being eaten by the animals of the forest, and with that the two brothers end up lost. In an attempt to find their way, the children see a house made of sweets and chocolates, and hungry, they start eating the goodies. They are then taken in by the mistress of the house who turns out to be an evil and naughty witch. She comes to travel through the world of fantasy and imagination.
