Marking the Black Consciousness Day, the Arts Center (Ceart) of the State University of Santa Catarina (Udesc) holds the Black Consciousness Week. Workshops, fairs, artistic presentations, exhibitions, conversation circles, book launches among other activities. During the event, the delivery of the Cruz e Sousa Cultural Merit Medal, from the State Council of Culture of SC. Among the more than 40 activities are traditional dance and percussion workshops Guinean (with the Netos de Bandim Cultural Group, from Guinea Bissau), women in capoeira angola e african cuisine; presentation of Africatarine battery e Black-à-porter performance (Collective Nega).
