Synopsis:
The film brings to life a set of stories from the latest issue of an American magazine, published in a fictional XNUMXth century French town. On the occasion of the death of its beloved editor Arthur Howitzer Jr., born in Kansas, the team of Crónicas de France, a widely circulated American magazine based in the French city of Ennui-sur-Blasé, meets to write its obituary. Howitzer's memories flow into the creation of four stories: a travelogue of The Cyclist Reporter's most sordid sections of the city itself; “The Concrete Masterpiece”, about a criminally insane painter, his guard and muse, and their voracious dealers; “Reviews of a Manifesto”, a chronicle of love and death on the barricades at the height of the student revolt; and “The Police Commissioner's Private Dining Room,” a suspenseful tale of drugs, kidnapping and fancy dinners.
