Synopsis: John McBurney (Colin Farrell) is a Yankee corporal wounded during combat in the American Civil War. His help comes when he is found in the woods by young Amy (Oona Laurence), who takes him to a Confederate girls' boarding school. Managed by Martha Farnsworth (Nicole Kidman), the place welcomes some women who live isolated and hidden from the war. The idea is to help John recover and refer him to the authorities.
