The young Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) starts to present very frightening behavior and attitude. Faced with this situation, her mother (Ellen Burstyn) seeks psychiatric treatment for her daughter, but as this does not solve the problem, she resorts to exorcism to try to help the girl.
