Synopsis: A documented look at the persistence in contemporary society of gleaners, those who live off the recovery of debris and leftovers that others don't want or leave behind. The gleaner, in this sense, is Agnès Varda, the director of the feature, who, trying out a small digital camera for the first time, wants to assume herself as a "recoverer" of images that others do not want to see or make, and therefore leave behind.
