Synopsis: Carol Ledoux (Catherine Deneuve) is a beautiful London woman who is sexually repressed. Furthermore, she still lives with her older sister. Carol constantly resists her boyfriend's harassment, and also disapproves of her sister's lover. When she travels with him on vacation, Carol is alone in the apartment and sinks into a deep depression, starting to have several hallucinations.
