Synopsis: Carlitos is a worker in a factory who ends up being driven insane by the "frenetic monotony" of his work. After a long period of treatment in a sanatorium, he is cured. So, Carlitos leaves the hospital to start his new life, but encounters a widespread crisis and is mistakenly arrested as an agitator. Meanwhile, a young girl (who gets involved with the protagonist) steals food to save her starving sisters, who are still children. But the worst is yet to come.
