Synopsis: In early 1980s Gotham City, amid a wave of violence and a garbage man's strike that has left the city filthy, mayoral candidate Thomas Wayne vows to clean up the city. It is in this scenario that Arthur Fleck works as a clown for a talent agency, with a social agent following him closely, due to his known mental problems. After being fired, Fleck reacts badly to the mockery of three Wall Street men in the middle of the subway and kills them. The murders start a popular movement against Gotham City's elite, of which Thomas Wayne is its biggest representative.
