Synopsis: The film portrays the last 16 days of Getúlio Vargas (Tony Ramos), then president of the Republic. Accused of being involved in the attack that injured journalist Carlos Lacerda (Alexandre Borges), Getúlio faces a serious political crisis, being betrayed by members of his own government. The pressure is on the president to step down before the case escalates into an armed uprising. The politician evaluates all existing options and risks, until he decides to commit suicide.
