Synopsis:

In the interior of the state of Maranhão lives Pureza, a tireless and faithful worker, who supports herself and her family with the manufacture of clay bricks. When her youngest son, Abel, at 18 years old, says goodbye to Dona Pureza to work, little does she know that it will be years before she manages to find him again. After work, Abel is captured by the debt bondage system. Desperate for news from Abel, Pureza begins a long journey in search of her son and, armed with an audio recorder and a small camera, begins to collect evidence of forced labor and atrocities committed by farmers in northern Brazil.
