We are a company specialized in Oceanic Sailing Courses, sailing every year from Florianópolis to Fernando de Noronha. We embark students with or without nautical experience, but with a great desire to live the experience of ocean sailing.
The PANGEIA Veleiro-Escola is a 44-foot ocean-going sailboat, fully equipped and legalized to sail in the open sea, with safety and comfort for our students/crew.
During the course, every two hours one of our students checks our latitude and longitude on the GPS and plots our point on the Nautical Chart. We prepared together our Navigation Plan, with the Nautical Chart, the weather forecast and the tide table. When entering and leaving ports, we have to keep an eye on the nautical beacon lights, depth, and ship traffic. Meanwhile, the crew takes turns at the helm and adjusting the sails. Our focus is not only on learning to sail, but also on navigation (nautical chart, gps), weather forecasting, anchorages, and the entire marine universe of an oceanic sailboat.
