Leisure

Despite being far from the city center, Pântano do Sul beach has several leisure options typical of the beaches on the south of the island, which maintain the characteristics of small villages. The beach itself is an attraction, with a long and wide strip of sand. It is a perfect spot for those who want to sit and enjoy the sun and for those who want to go hiking. Along the beach, bars and restaurants serve drinks, snacks and meals. In order not to lose your tan, street vendors serve you on the sand, serving water, soda, beer, coconut water, cotton candy, hot cheese, peanuts, etc. in addition to beach objects and clothing. To explore the south of the Island, there are boat trips that leave the beach and take tourists to the islands daily: Campeche Island, Três Irmãs e Moleques do Sul, in addition to Lagoinha do Este e shipwrecked (beaches that can only be reached by trail or boat). There are also kayaking tours and surfing lessons. The coast of Pântano do Sul is a great place to practice sword and bass fishing. Continuing the path to the top of Morro do Cemitério, there is an archaeological reserve where bones over 6 years old were discovered. From Pântano do Sul, it is also possible to hike to beaches such as Lagoinha do Leste, Naufragados, Saquinho and Solidão (with another trail to the beautiful waterfall at Praia da Solidão). At night, Pântano do Sul is calm and with little movement, but the center of Armação do Pântano do Sul is bustling with bars and live music, just a five to ten minute drive away.
