Praia da Armação and the region around it form one of the places with the greatest offer of services in the south of the island. There is a wide availability of restaurants, bars and snack bars.
Pharmacy, pet shops, beauty salons, water and gas distributors, florists, real estate, stationery, markets, building materials store, lan houses and other services are offered.
There are no bank branches, but ATMs for withdrawals and statements are found in convenience stores.
There are medical and dental offices in nearby neighborhoods, as well as laundries, currency exchange and other services.
In the rougher sea points, there are lifeguard stations that provide assistance.
To get to Armação by bus, it is necessary to stop at the Integrated Terminal of Rio Tavares (TiRio) and, from there, take a bus whose final stop is Armação. The company that makes these transfers is Insular. In the summer, the hours are longer, but it is possible to get to Armação with ease at all times of the year during business hours.
Taxi ranks are scarce. The best way out is to always keep a taxi rank phone with you and call when the need arises. It is not common to find taxis on the street.
